Oh well... back to the drawing board. We're not sure yet if we're going to redo the whole thing the same way or maybe just do carpet direct on concrete. We'll see how it goes.

Water World
Unfortunately we were not immune to the ice storm of last weekend despite having effectively no ice at our house. The power to the sump pump was out long enough to ruin effectively the entire subfloor downstairs. To add to the fun, we were informed by the insurance co. that nothing is covered. Just a sampling of the damage:

flood insurance is cheap man (then you'd be covered).
wicked cheap if you aren't in a flood zone.
we have it - just saying.
i put down that subfloor with the plastic backing that gives you an airspace under the sub floor so it can dry out. 2x2 tounge and groove.
